About Frederick
Frederick is just two years old, but his little body tells a story no cat ever should have to live.
He was found alone on the streets, carrying both long-healed scars and fresh wounds, quiet evidence of a life spent surviving instead of living. Every mark on him is a reminder of nights without safety, kindness, or comfort. When Frederick arrived at the shelter, he was terrified. He had learned the hard way that the world wasn't gentle, and he met it with fear and defensiveness because that's how he stayed alive.
Frederick is FIV positive, which simply means he will need to be an only cat, or live with other FIV-positive feline friends. What it does not mean is that he deserves to be overlooked. Cats with FIV can live long, happy, love-filled lives ...especially when they are safe indoors and cared for.
With time, patience, and gentle care from our team, his walls are coming down. The scared street cat is beginning to trust. He's starting to venture out, to seek interaction, to lean into the idea that maybe, just maybe, humans can be kind. These moments are small, but they are monumental for a cat who once expected nothing but harm.
Frederick is still on a journey. He will need a calm, understanding home and an adopter who can go at his pace. There will be days where progress feels slow - but every tiny step forward is a victory he's never had before.
By adopting Frederick, you won't just be giving him a home.
You'll be giving him safety.
You'll be giving him the chance to finally live the life he was always meant to have.
And in doing so, you will truly be saving his life.
Frederick is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
