About Spot
My name is Spot and I’m a 2-year-old black and tan kelpie boy with a big smile and a huge heart. I’m one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet, and I have a distinctive look too — I’m missing the tip of my left ear from an old injury, which just makes me extra memorable.
I am a fun-loving, affectionate and playful companion. I adore cuddles, holding hands, gentle play-fighting, and zooming around. I bond quickly, trust easily, and have a gift for making my humans feel like the most important people in the world. I’m great with kids, love meeting new people, and bring laughter and joy wherever I go. After a busy day, I’m just as happy to curl up for a nap.
I’m clever and love to learn. I can sit, shake hands, wait politely at doors, sit nicely for pats, and wait patiently for permission to eat. I love training at home, especially when treats are involved — peanut butter is a particular favourite of mine! I’m currently working on lying down and improving my recall, and I thrive with daily mental stimulation. I’m toilet trained, crate trained, and do best with a routine that includes exercise and interaction, rather than long stretches alone.
I’m an energetic kelpie who loves daily walks and runs. I get along well with other dogs, though I’m also happy as an only dog. I live peacefully with a cat and show calm, respectful manners. I’m not obsessed with toys yet, but will occasionally enjoy a soft toy or rope tug — people are definitely my favourite thing!
My ideal forever home will be one where I have plenty of attention and companionship, or where my people can provide lots of exercise, mental stimulation and quality time. I’d be a perfect companion for a young, active person and a great travelling buddy. A home with secure fencing is required.
If you’re looking for a dog who will fill your life with fun, affection and joy... I'm your boy.

You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
