Hi, I’m Sofia!
I came into rescue with my litter and our mum when our breeder wasn’t able to keep caring for us anymore. Thanks to Off The Chain, I’ve been given the chance to grow up safe and now I’m ready to find a home of my own.
I’m a sweet, gentle girl with a naturally timid nature. I take a little time to feel comfortable in new situations, but once I do, I’m incredibly affectionate and soft-hearted. I’m great with other dogs and currently live happily with a large-breed male, who helps give me confidence and reassurance. My carers work part time hours so I just hang in the yard with the other dog, and at night we sleep snuggled up together on the patio in our crate.
I’m learning my basic commands and doing really well. I enjoy training and like having gentle guidance and encouragement. I may not be the boldest puppy in the room, but I’m thoughtful, observant, and eager to learn in my own quiet way. I am very playful and adventurous once I know I am home and I am a ton of fun for my doggy sibling!
What I really need is a home where I’m brought inside and included as part of the family. Being close to my people, having routine, and feeling safe will help me continue building confidence. I’m not a backyard-only dog- I thrive on connection and calm companionship. I would do best with a confident dog friend and a few outings each week to let me run, sniff, roll and explore this amazing world!
I’m a mixed breed- my mum is a purebred Maremma and my dad is the neighbour’s Arab x so I’ll grow into a lovely big girl. With secure fencing, gentle leadership, and lots of love, I’ll reward you with loyalty, sweetness, and a heart that’s all yours.

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. This holding deposit will be subtracted from the adoption fee should you adopt the animal on hold for you.
