About Pippa
Introducing Pippa!
Pippa is an American Staffy x born approx 28th July 2022.
Pippa was brought into us as an unmicrochipped stray & no one came looking for her. She came into us quite skinny, she's clearly been bred multiple times, and she does have what look to be teeth scrape scars on both sides of her nose (so she may have previously been attacked by another dog). Whatever has happened to her, she hasn't let that stop her from being one of the sweetest dogs we've ever met.
Since being at the facility Pippa has been an absolutely beautiful girl who loves everyone she meets. She's incredibly affectionate & super wiggly. She absolutely love, love, LOVES belly rubs and sitting in your lap (whether she fits or not). If you kneel down in front of her she will put her front paws on your shoulders and cover your face in kisses.. be warned though, if you try to pull away she will grip harder so you can't leave.. we've found it's easier (and more heartwarming) to submit to her love bombs.
If you are after an outdoor dog only, Pippa is not your girl. She wants to be with you, to be loved and to be treated like the cheeky princess she is.
Pippa tested well with the two loarge male dogs we tested her with. Her first went very well, she wasn't fazed by his forceful kisses and even gave him a big "awoo woo woo" when he wasn't paying attention to her. Her second meet was definitely different but by no means bad; she saw him, sniffed from afar then walked straight passed him to go back to her run, showing absolutely no interest. We believe Pippa would be suitable to live with another dog, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Pippa tested fairly well with our cranky facility cat. She was hissed & spat at and while she did have her hackles up, she lowered her head & left the room. We believe she could be suitable to live with cats if given a slow & controlled introduction to them.
Pippa tested fairly well with our resident rooster, showing the same reaction as she did with cats. She was very easy to distract and she walked away without being coaxed. While this was quite a good reaction, we would recommend that any existing pocket pets be caged only and not free roaming.
Pippa has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility.
Pippa has mostly shown no signs of separation anxiety, however she will have a bit of a howling session every known again.
Pippa would thrive in a home where she is included as a part of the family.
Pippa's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing and lifetime registration.
Pippa has been treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
