About Atlas
A- active
T- toilet trained
L- loving
A- adorable
S- smoochy
Atlas is a delightful and energetic four-month-old puppy making him an ideal candidate for anyone seeking a wonderful large dog as a new addition to their family. This charming young dog is not only adorable but also possesses a gentle and loving nature, coupled with the boundless energy typical of a puppy. He is full of affection and ready to shower his new family with endless smooches. Cuddles are is no 1
Atlas has a variety of favorite activities that keep him entertained and happy.
He thoroughly enjoys playing with the foster puppies he currently lives with, engaging in playful antics that bring joy to everyone around.
Soft toys, balls, and tug-of-war games are among his preferred pastimes, and he has a particular fondness for carrying around and chewing on his cow hoof. Additionally, Atlas has a keen sense of smell and loves sniffing around for food, which adds to his playful and curious demeanor.
When it comes to interacting with people, Atlas is a true sweetheart. He loves to follow his human companions around, seeking attention and affection in the form of endless pats or simply lying contentedly at their feet. His affectionate nature makes him a gem of a dog, and he is not overly jumpy or mouthy for a pup of his age. Atlas has been exposed to a variety of different people, and he handles these interactions well. He can be a little chatter box at times, like he’s trying to talk to you
In terms of his interactions with other dogs, Atlas is a social butterfly. He currently lives with three resident dogs and two other smaller puppies, and he has settled in beautifully.
He takes cues from the older dogs on how to behave and engages in playful interactions with the smaller puppies. While he is inquisitive around new dogs, he can be a bit intimidated by overly boisterous ones, as he is still learning his place in the world as a young pup.
Atlas is making great strides in obedience and training. He is hand-fed many of his meals, allowing for short and frequent training sessions each day. He has already mastered commands such as sit, bed, and walking well on a lead, and he engages well with his carer when practicing recall. Atlas is also enjoying learning new commands like drop, touch, and spin.
He is fully toilet trained and can be outside on his own during the day.
His training includes exposure to noisy roads, trains, bikes, kids, other dogs, car travel, and household noises like the vacuum, all of which he handles with confidence. He seem to enjoy water and getting his toes wet at the local park too
In terms of independence, Atlas is quite content being on his own. He often chooses to remove himself from the other dogs and lay outside, entertaining himself or napping for most of the day.
Inside the home, Atlas is well-behaved and loves a cuddle on the couch, although he is also happy to lay on the floor if not allowed up.
He has been excellent about not stealing or chewing anything he shouldn’t, although he is always supervised when inside and everything is removed
Atlas has had some introduction to crate training, although he is not fully crate trained because he behaves so well inside the home.
Each night, he is directed to his bed, where he sleeps soundly.
As for his diet, Atlas is eating a high-quality puppy dry food, which should continue until he reaches adulthood. He has also tried a few other tasty treats like chicken giblets and cow hooves, and he does not seem to be a fussy eater.
Being a big pup he does like to put those puppy paws on the kitchen bench to see if there is anything up there that may take his fancy lol
He is fully toilet trained and can use a doggy door with ease.
When it comes to car travel, Atlas was initially hesitant to get in the car, but with daily practice, he is learning that car trips often lead to fun destinations like the park. He now jumps in independently and travels well once inside the car.
The ideal home for Atlas would be with an active family experienced in handling large breeds. He would do well with dog-savvy children who can tolerate a goofy puppy that can be all legs at times.
A family committed to ongoing training and exposure would be perfect for him, as well as a yard large enough for his zoomies. Atlas would love an active female companion to play and romp around with Secure fencing is a must to keep him
IDEAL HOME
A home that has previously had large dog experience and if experienced with the breed even better.
A home that is committed to his training and development and has time to put into a puppy regarding training and exposure.
A home with another female dog medium to large who loves to play and interact is preferred.
A home with a yard big enough for a goofy boy to play and practice his zoomies
A home with dog savvy kids who can tolerate large puppy behaviour will be considered.
An active family is a must for this boy
Secure fencing and a nice size yard.
Unfortunately we cannot consider small size yard for this boy
