About Iris
Hi. I am Iris and I am a gentle mix of sweet cuddles and quiet independence.
When you first meet me I might seem a little shy. New people and busy moments can feel a bit overwhelming at the start. But give me a little time and I will be coming over for cuddles before you know it. Once I trust you I really lean in and soak up the love.
I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company, though I am also perfectly happy being an only pet. I am quite content in my own space and do not need constant company from other animals. Cats are something I have not been tested with yet so that part is still an unknown.
I spend my days outside enjoying the fresh air and watching the world go by. At night I am flexible and can sleep either outside or inside depending on the weather. I am used to being home alone for a couple of hours and handle that just fine.
Children are lovely to me. I can be a little unsure at first but I warm up quickly and once I feel safe I am all about the cuddles. I think I would do well with children who understand giving me a moment to settle in.
I am polite with my toileting and will happily go out on the grass. On the lead I am still learning and sometimes like to act as though I am walking myself. I am getting better each time and there are no behavioural concerns when I am out and about.
I know how to sit and wait and I am easy to train with a bit of patience and consistency. I enjoy learning and respond well to encouragement. At the vet I am very well behaved and absolutely love the attention and treats.
I can be vocal when I am playing but otherwise I am fairly quiet. Energy wise I am a nice balance. I enjoy play time and fun but I also value my downtime and alone moments.
My favourite toys are anything that squeaks and I have a special love for playing with ice cubes. Food wise I currently enjoy biscuits and chicken mince.
There are no health or behavioural concerns with me. I am simply a sweet girl who enjoys affection just as much as she enjoys her own space.
I am Iris. Gentle loving and quietly confident. If you are looking for a companion who will happily share cuddles and also respect her own calm moments I think we could be a really lovely match.
