About Ferris
Hi. I am Ferris and I am the quiet one.
I like calm moments and steady days. While the others are busy bouncing around I am often happy doing my own thing nearby, keeping an eye on the world and taking it all in. I have a gentle presence and a thoughtful way about me that people tend to notice once they slow down.
I get along well with other dogs and play nicely when I choose to join in. I am respectful of boundaries and comfortable stepping away when things get too noisy. I would also be perfectly happy as an only dog as long as I am given plenty of attention training and things to keep my mind busy. I form strong bonds and I am very loyal to my people.
Cats are something I am still learning about. I am good with them but will need continued interaction and guidance to make sure everyone feels relaxed and understood.
I am learning to sit and taking my time with it. I am very food motivated which makes training rewarding and enjoyable. I also respond beautifully to praise and gentle encouragement. I want to get things right.
I sleep outside or inside in a crate and settle easily. I am good indoors and my toilet training is coming along well with routine and consistency.
I enjoy soft toys and ropes and will happily play chase or tug but I am not over the top about it. I enjoy play and then I enjoy rest just as much.
I am great with kids and have a calm nature around them. I will still need ongoing training to make sure I stay gentle and keep all four paws on the ground.
I love meeting new people and take it all in quietly with a wag and a lean in for pats. Vet visits are no trouble for me. I enjoy the attention and handle new situations well.
I have excellent recall and love staying close to my people. I am Ferris. Calm loyal and quietly devoted. If you are looking for a steady companion who will walk beside you rather than rush ahead I might be the one you have been waiting for.
