YOUR NEW BEST BUDDY?
This gorgeous floppy eared fellow is Buddy, he is a 3.5-year-old German Shepherd who is looking for his forever home, he oozes best friend / ‘heart dog’ potential and is just the sweetest boy who wants someone to share his life with.
Buddy absolutely adores people, he is a gentle giant that just wants to be loved and doted on, leaning in for pats, nudging your arm for more cuddles and following you everywhere are all on the top of his to do list. Buddy would be fine living with children that are large-breed savvy.
Buddy came to us carrying some extra weight, he has been receiving regular exercise in foster care and a more balanced diet, and we are already starting to see the difference with a more energetic, playful pup emerging. Buddy will need to continue his weight loss journey in his new home, and needs someone committed to giving him regular exercise.
Buddy knows his basic commands, however, could absolutely benefit from some refresher training, particularly on lead at the start of a walk, he pulls hard and forgets his leash manners. Once Buddy settles into a walk, he pulls less and is quite well behaved and easy-going, he is not reactive to dogs or people and is happy to walk past minding his own business, more focused on sniffing every bush.
Buddy has been social when meeting other dogs out and about but has proven that in the home environment, he doesn’t want to share his humans, his resources or his space. Buddy needs to be the only dog in his new home; he can socialise with others out on walks but prefers the centre of attention when he gets home.
Buddy hasn’t been tested with cats or small pets.
Buddy loves to play with toys and can often be found carrying around his favourite soft toy, he enjoys a game of fetch, squeaky balls are always a hit! Once Buddy is finished playing, he is happy to settle down on his bed for a snooze, he would love to be welcomed inside and included as part of the family, he is a people dog that just wants to be wherever his humans are.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
