About Bobby Bobtail
Bobby’s story is not an easy one — but it explains exactly why he needs the right environment now.
We were contacted about Bobby after he had been suffering with a severe tail injury for at least two weeks. His tail was necrotic and hanging, causing ongoing pain and infection. By the time he came into care, there was no option to save it — surgery was urgent, and his tail was removed.
Despite unimaginable discomfort, Bobby remained incredibly gentle. He sought affection, purred through care, and showed nothing but trust toward people.
That injury is now fully behind him. Bobby has healed beautifully, is pain-free, and medically cleared.
After prolonged pain, stress, and recovery, Bobby becomes overstimulated in busy or multi-cat environments.
Because of this, Bobby needs:
• an experienced foster carer
• a calm, low-stimulus home
• ideally no other cats, or the ability to be fully separate
In the right environment, Bobby is affectionate, smoochy, and deeply people-focused. He doesn’t need fixing — he needs space to decompress and feel safe again.
