About Tom
Meet Tom, the 8 kilo pocket poodle who thinks he is the main character
Tom is a pure breed miniature poodle with a huge heart and some very cute habits. He has been freshly groomed, desexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and his full puppy vaccines and yearly boosters are up to date. He is ready for a committed home that will let him shine.
Personality
Tom was never toilet trained in his previous life but with consistency and routine in foster care he is doing amazing. He is eager to please and he works things out quickly when you guide him with structure and patience.
He loves snuggles on the couch and his favourite spot is perched behind you on the couch back like a little parrot. At bedtime he will proudly steal your pillow and settle in like he owns the place.
He is a little head shy although this is improving every day in foster care. Once he trusts you he becomes a gentle cuddle boy who melts into your hands. He is fine with other dogs and enjoys their company. Like many small dogs he can bark at times, usually for reassurance.
Tom is gentle and does not bite. He is good with kids and enjoys being part of whatever the household is doing.
Home needs
Tom can escape farm style fencing so he needs secure suburban fencing that keeps a small clever poodle safely contained. If you are in an apartment, fencing requirements do not apply.
His coat is soft and fluffy and needs regular grooming to keep it comfortable and tidy.
His story
Tom came from a breeder who had too many dogs and could not keep up with the level of care they required. In foster care he has flourished. He has learned that people mean comfort, food, routine and affection.
Why he is special
Tom is a loyal companion with a funny and gentle nature. He bonds deeply and he will be the type of dog who follows you from room to room with his little happy trot. If you want a loving shadow who makes every day sweeter, Tom is your boy.
