About Devlin the Legend
Hi, I’m Devlin the Legend, a handsome and well-mannered Kelpie/Border Collie born on 22 July 2024 and weighing a healthy 18.1 kgs.
I may not have had much formal obedience training early on, but I come with naturally excellent manners and a calm, sensible outlook on life. I don’t jump up, I’m polite with people, and I have a knack for quietly doing the right thing.
I recently attended a busy adoption event at a pet store, and I’m rather proud to report that I didn’t have a single accident indoors — even with all the excitement. While other dogs joined in a barking chorus, I chose to stay quiet and composed.
I’m a people-loving dog and I’m particularly good with children. Toddlers patted me happily at the event and I took it all in my stride. I live with children in my foster home as well as a bunch of other dogs.
Yes, I’m pleased to say I'm dog-friendly with dogs of all sizes. The little yappy ones don’t faze me much — and if someone gets a bit overexcited, I’ll calmly look to my person for reassurance instead of reacting.
I’ve also shown polite behaviour around cats, and with proper introductions I reckon I could happily share a home with one.
Living with me is easy. I am:
✔️ Excellent on the lead
✔️ House-trained
✔️ Quiet and settled in a crate
✔️ Not a barker (even when others are!)
✔️ Happy and relaxed in the car
All in all, I’m just a steady, adaptable, genuinely good boy who will suit many different homes — families, couples, or anyone wanting a calm companion with lovely manners.
💬 From my foster mum
“I honestly haven’t heard Devlin bark once since he’s been here. He’s polite, easy to live with, brilliant on the lead and just fits in. He’s one of those dogs who makes life simple.”
Adoption Information
I am available for adoption by online application only https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/
I’m hoping for a home where I’ll be an integral part of the family — whether that’s one special human or a bustling household. Secure fencing is important to keep me safe, and I’d really love to be allowed indoors.
💛 Love, Devlin
Medical notes
