About Rain
Rain – handsome, athletic, and full of personality
Rain is a very handsome, athletic blue boy who is just one year old and already has quite the life story behind him. He came into care as a trapped stray — scared, shut down and absolutely desperate to get away from humans.
It took time, patience and a lot of gentle work to earn Rain’s trust. But when he finally gave in and asked for pats… he was HOOKED. Once Rain decides you’re safe, he becomes an affectionate, people-focused companion who genuinely enjoys being around his humans.
Rain still likes to make new people work a little for his consent to pat and handle him — which is fair enough, given his start in life — but his bar is pretty low these days. He usually warms up quickly and before long is just as into you as you are into him.
This is a high-energy, intelligent, busy-brained boy. Rain needs more than just a comfy place to nap — he needs a home that understands enrichment and activity are essential for a cat like him. He will thrive with:
• Climbing towers and vertical space
• Window perches to watch the world
• Daily interactive play (wand toys are a big win)
• Puzzle feeders and other mental stimulation
• Lots of time spent with his people
Rain does like other cats, but he is dominant and can be a bit full-on. Any feline housemate would need to be confident, resilient and able to match his big personality. If you’re looking for a solo cat though, Rain would absolutely shine — he has “loyal, ride-or-die best mate” energy and will happily make you his whole world.
We can easily picture Rain as the kind of cat who learns harness walks, supervises your backyard activities, and is always right in the middle of whatever you’re doing. He’s active, social and loves being involved.
Rain has already done the hard work of learning to trust. Now he just needs a home that will keep his life interesting, respect his boundaries, and enjoy having a clever, athletic, affectionate cat as part of the family.
