About Billy
Billy's new home requires:
- A home where he is the only animal.
- No kids under 10 years.
- No long car rides.
- To have the option of being inside.
- His people home often.
- For his walks to be away from other dogs.
Billy may be a senior in age but he is full of life and energy. He loves playing fetch and carrying his tennis balls around and then he is ready for a nap. To make his day perfect, add in some belly rubs and cuddles.
Billy is good around adults and kids over 10. He gets excited when visitors come and he can be vocal, he can be a little shy at first and likes to have a sniff first and then he’s happy and ready to get all the pats and belly rubs the visitors are able to give,
Billy is happy to go on car trips but can get over excited and may start to pace around, pant and bark, but he eventually settles and is fine. He also loves to have his tennis ball with him in the car to chew on.
When he first sees his lead, he gets an anxious, excited bark to go for a walk and pulls on the lead but once you start the walk he is really good and walks well… when not around other dogs. Billy can lunge and bark at other dogs when walking on lead.
He has learnt to wait for his food - under - Middle commands and he already knows the basics of sit, stay, come, drop, lie down and on your bed and recalls well most of the time. So he’s a pretty well trained dog and responds well to training.
Billy’s fully toilet trained! He’s kept indoors most of the time and only needs to be let out every few hours to go to the toilet in the day. Bonus he also sleeps through the night. Billy likes to sleep on the couch in the day and on his bed inside at night time.
Billy is not suited to living with other animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds etc.
He can show signs of stiffness in the morning and evenings which is likely the start of arthritis and he would do best with some joint supplements.
In the morning once he's up and going, you would think he's a three year old again! He's a good mix of active as he loves chasing the ball and playing catch as well as going on short walks, but can also sleep on the couch for hours.
He can whine at times if he knows you’re in the house but in a different room but will eventually settle and go to sleep. He only barks if he wants you to throw his ball.
Billy would like his people home often but is happy being left if he has access to outside.
Billy would love a home where he gets to play ball, go for walks, and receive plenty of pats and belly rubs, and to have the option of being inside to spend time with his family and to have comfort from the elements.
Billy can run in between peoples feet when they are walking so would be best in a home where people don't have mobility or balance issues.
