About Audrey
Audrey is a beautiful girl who came into our care in an awful state.
Audrey had a large lump in her groin, and a fine needle aspirate showed fat cells. This indicated that the lump was nothing more than a harmless lipoma (fatty lump) and none of us were worried at all.
The previous owner had told us that Audrey was desexed, but we found out later that this was a lie. A lie that could have killed her.
When our vets opened Audrey up, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Audrey’s uterus had fallen through a massive hernia, into her skin and that was what was causing the lump. The tiny needle that took a sample had managed to get the fat around the artery!
Not only was Audrey’s uterus outside of her abdominal cavity, it was also infected AND had twisted around itself. Audrey would have been dead in a matter of hours! Shockingly, she also had another hernia on the other side!
Audrey has undergone several surgeries. She has been desexed, had 2 hernia repairs and a dental, along with all her other vet work.
Audrey is now on the lookout for her own palace with servants who are going to wait on her hand and foot.
Audrey is a slightly chunky lap dog. She is a good eater she is fully house trained. She is fine with other dogs (as long as they are not annoying and in her face). She enjoys being cuddled and is a professional at convincing people to rub her belly. She will even curl up beside you in bed if you will let her.
Audrey is an older girl. She turned 9 in November. She has been through so much and she now would love a calm, loving home. She loves her foster carers 10 year old grandson so older kids are fine.
Audrey weighs about 6 ½ kg and does demand to be carried sometimes so please think about that before applying.
Audrey is ready to claim her space on your couch, on your bed and in your heart.
