Merlot is a stunning 3‑year‑old Rottweiler who has all the makings of a loyal, loving companion — she just needs the right people to help her blossom. At 35 kg, she’s a big girl with an even bigger heart, but the world hasn’t always been kind to her, and she’s still learning that new people and new experiences can be safe.

Personality
Merlot can be hand‑shy with unfamiliar people, especially during first meetings. She warms up beautifully once she feels safe, but she’ll need adopters who understand that trust is something she gives slowly and thoughtfully. With patience, consistency, and kindness, she becomes affectionate, gentle, and eager to connect.

What She Needs
A calm, predictable home where she can decompress and build confidence at her own pace.

Teenage children or adults only, as younger kids may move too quickly for her comfort.

A well‑balanced, large male dog would be an ideal companion. She benefits from steady canine role models and will do best with slow, structured introductions.

Gradual exposure to the outside world — new environments, people, and dogs should be introduced thoughtfully to help her grow without overwhelming her.

Experienced or patient adopters who understand shy or under‑socialised dogs.
