Introducing Churu, our three legged boy who acts like he has eight!
Churu came into care after being surrendered with a broken leg, but losing that limb hasn't stopped him at all. From day one, it was as though he always had three, nothing has ever stood in his way.
Churu is a playful and talkative boy who loves to follow the sun around the house for a warm snooze, though is a little hesitant of new people.
He is not always the most affectionate boy and is not very fond of being held, but when he does show affection, he does so with soft head bumps, face smudges and couch snuggles. He is not much of a lap sitter and is happier to lie down or sleep next to his carer on the couch, but will still occasionally sit on her lap.
Churu is quite mischievous and gets into a lot that he shouldn't and can be quite aggressive when it comes to food. He will sometimes jump as you put down his food and will snatch treats from your hand (or try to from your plate) and it is unclear if that is simply his nature, his age or the fact that he is in a multi-cat household yet funnily enough, eats the slowest out of all the cats he's with.
Is he cheeky? Yes! He attempts to climb the drawer handles to get on the kitchen bench and if you have any food within his reach, he will take what he likes or break into packaging, he gets underfoot, climbs the dining chairs to get onto the table and has been known to chew on tea towels, feeding mats and clothes. He used to play fetch and loves his toys, but his favourite activity is to climb into your dishwasher.
Is he sweet and adorable? Yes! Churu will charm you with his looks and sweet nature, comfort you with his snuggles and head bumps and keep you entertained with his little conversations.
He is good with other cats, though has shown a little dominance over a couple of his fellow housemates.
Churu has only been around one child and that did not go well. He was very scared and resorted to hiding under the couch while hissing and due to his getting into things he shouldn't, his ability to get underfoot, the fact that he is not the most affectionate boy who doesn't like anything forced and his food aggression, he should not be homed with younger children nor should he be homed with someone who could lose patience with him.
He can be trying at times but he really is an adorable little boy who brings his carer so much joy and should not ever be treated as a novelty.
As with all of our cats and kittens, Churu is to be indoors only at all times unless provided with a secure cat run.
Though he is no extra work, he requires a home where he will be accepted for exactly who he is and loved for all his quirks.
If you think your the home that Churu deserves please fill out an application at the following link
