Meet Angus, a charming 6-year-old Poodle with a personality as distinctive as his curly coat. With a weight of just 4 kilograms, Angus is looking for a special home that appreciates his unique character. While he may have experienced moments of jealousy in the past and has a bite history , he's ready to find a loving new person who understands his needs and provides the right environment for him to thrive.
Angus is best suited to a home where he can be the center of attention and receive the love he craves. He'll thrive in a household without children and as the only pet , where he can spend his days enjoying the company of one person who understand his boundaries. Angus hasn't been tested with cats, but he is best suited as the only dog in the home, allowing his spirited personality to shine without the need for competition.
He is generally a happy loving boy who loves walks and car rides.
Angus is a desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and wormed poodle, ensuring he's healthy and ready to transition smoothly into his new environment. He needs a secure yard to safely explore outdoors, but his ideal home is where he can bond with his humans and join them for relaxed, quiet activities.
If you're located within 100 km of the Gold Coast and are ready to welcome a loyal and charming companion who will love being your sole focus, Angus could be the perfect addition to your life. With an adoption fee of $695, he's waiting for that special someone who can offer the understanding and love he needs to thrive.

A message from Angus’s carer
Carefully seeking a calm, experienced home for a very sensitive dog
We are committed to finding the right home rather than a quick one.
Angus has an affectionate, and gentle nature. He is not aggressive, not destructive, and not reactive in a typical sense. However, he is an extremely sensitive dog whose nervous system struggles in stimulating environments.
Through experience and professional guidance, we’ve learned that noise, movement, visual stimulation, and busy households overwhelm him. When he becomes overstimulated or uncertain, he seeks safety in familiar objects or spaces and may guard them. On rare occasions, when pushed beyond his threshold or during moments of confusion, this guarding has included snapping or biting. These incidents have been directly linked to stress and overstimulation — not dominance, malice, or intent to harm.
In calm, low-stimulus environments, these behaviours reduce dramatically or disappear altogether. In quiet settings he settles easily, sleeps well, and shows a loving, relaxed personality. He thrives on predictability, minimal input, and having a clearly defined safe space where he can fully switch off.
He is best suited to:
• A quiet, low-traffic home
• One or two calm, experienced adults
• Someone comfortable reading canine stress signals
• A predictable routine with limited stimulation
• A home that values rest and structure over constant activity
He is not suited to:
• Busy households or frequent visitors
• Highly stimulating environments
• Homes expecting a dog that can freely roam or adapt quickly
We have invested a great deal of time, care, and emotional energy into supporting him — creating safe spaces, managing stimulation carefully, and working with his needs
We are seeking someone who understands sensitive dogs and is willing to allow him to settle slowly, build trust at his own pace, and maintain calm, consistent boundaries. With the right person and environment, we truly believe he can live a peaceful, content life.
We are happy to speak openly with potential adopters about his needs, history, and what has helped him succeed.

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee (per dog) . This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
