About Blimpy
đ Meet Blimpy â A Sweet Soul with a Big Personality đ
Blimpy is a loving, affectionate young girl with a playful puppy zest for life and a heart thatâs even bigger than her paws. Like many babies, she can go full throttle and forget that rest is important, so structured âforced restâ time in her crate has been a key part of her routine. She settles wonderfully in her crate, and continuing this in her new home will be vital to support both her growing body and busy, curious mind.
Blimpy is bright, inquisitive, and eager to learn. Sheâs food motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Prior to coming into care, she appears to have had little to no training, and at 6 months oldâalready a large-breed puppyâshe had a lot to catch up on. Thankfully, she thrives with clear boundaries, consistency, and positive reinforcement, and she picks up new skills quickly.
While in care, Blimpy has shown to thrive with human attention. She LIVES for a big cuddle and would happily spend her days in your lap despite already being far too large to fit.
đĄ Blimpyâs Ideal Home
Blimpy would do best in a home with breed and/or large-breed experience. Her future family should understand how important it is to protect growing jointsâno stairs, no jumping on or off furniture, and no high-impact activities while sheâs still developing.
Air conditioning is a must, as Blimpy is a brachycephalic breed and can struggle in warm weather. Her adopters will also need to be committed to ongoing training, as sheâs going to grow into a very large, strong adult dog.
⥠Energy Level
Blimpy has a high energy level and an even busier brain. Mental enrichment is key for her and goes a long way toward keeping her balanced and content. When her needs are met, sheâs perfectly happy to relax, nap, and soak up cuddles with her people.
đ§ Suitability with Children
Blimpy is a big lush, she is fairly gentle despite her size however she is not aware of said size and would send small humans flying with her enthusiasm. Dog Savvy kids 8 and up are recommended.
đ¶ Suitability with Other Dogs & Cats
Blimpy adores other dogs and truly values canine companionship. She is social, playful, and thrives with dog friends. Long-term, she would likely do best living with a calm, easy-going male dog who can help ground her during her more exuberant moments. Her new family should focus on spending time practicing dog neutrality as she thinks dogs are the best thing ever and as she grows she could overwhelm others with her lust for life.
Cats have not yet been tested.
Blimpy is an affectionate, intelligent, high-energy puppy with huge potential. With the right structure, training, and experienced home, she will grow into a loyal, loving, and impressive companion.
If youâre looking for a big puppy with an even bigger heartâand a surprising talent for climbingâBlimpy might just be your perfect match. đ
