Meet Rabbit!

Rabbit, affectionately known as Floppy, is a gentle, goofy young dog who is still learning the ropes of suburban life. He’s a strikingly handsome hound-type mix with long legs, big expressive ears, and stunning, one-of-a-kind markings—a beautiful blend of spots, patches, and stripes that make him truly unforgettable.

Rabbit is a friendly, good-natured boy who loves people and gets along well with other dogs. In new or unfamiliar situations he can be a little unsure, but with calm, positive guidance and gentle reassurance, he gains confidence quickly. When he’s comfortable, his sweet personality shines—he’s affectionate, soft, and endearingly funny in the way he moves through the world.

Life With Rabbit
Rabbit walks beautifully on lead and thoroughly enjoys his daily outings. He is currently working on his recall; however, due to his skittish nature in unfamiliar environments, he is not suitable for off-lead exercise. On-lead walks and secure, enclosed areas are where he feels safest and happiest.

He is in foster care with other dogs who are helping him learn confidence, social skills, and everyday routines. Rabbit enjoys walks, little adventures, and structured time at home as he continues to settle into indoor life.

Ideal Home
Rabbit’s ideal home is a quiet, predictable environment where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. He finds great comfort in his crate and actively chooses it as his safe space, so a home that understands and supports positive crate use is essential.

He is comfortable with visitors and gets along well with other dogs, making him a lovely fit for a calm household with respectful humans and canine companions. Rabbit is fairly independent and can be left alone for reasonable periods, but he would not be suited to being left alone for full-time working hours every day.

A secure yard where he can stretch his legs, relax, and enjoy the outdoors would be ideal. Above all, Rabbit is searching for a home built on trust, patience, kindness, and positive guidance.

Energy Level
When Rabbit feels settled, he’s a cruisy, relaxed kind of guy. If things become busy or unfamiliar, his brain can occasionally short-circuit and he may show a bit of anxious “what is happening right now?” energy. The good news? Routine, reassurance, and structure quickly return him to his calm default state.

Rabbit is used to a daily adventure and fully expects this lifestyle to continue. This can be one longer walk filled with sniffing or two shorter outings—either option keeps him happy and mentally satisfied.

He loves playtime with toys, enjoys appropriate play with other dogs, and is a huge fan of water. His shell pool is a favourite hangout, and yes… he can swim. If there’s water nearby, Rabbit will find it. Splashing is not a phase—it’s a passion.

Children
Rabbit hasn’t been tested with young children. Fast movements and unpredictable excitement may be confusing for him, so he would be best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respect a dog’s space and signals.

Other Dogs & Cats
Rabbit isn’t a fan of dogs charging straight into his face at full speed (fair enough). He prefers slow, neutral introductions where everyone can politely suss each other out. Given that space, he settles in beautifully.

Once acquainted, Rabbit enjoys balanced and appropriate play. His best friend in foster care is a Husky x Shepherd, and the two get along extremely well. When out on lead, Rabbit is neutral and non-reactive around other dogs.

Rabbit is also suitable to live with cats. He chooses avoidance over interaction and is perfectly happy to mind his own business and pretend they don’t exist.

Rabbit is a gentle soul with a big heart, looking for someone willing to move at his pace and celebrate his progress along the way. With patience and love, he’ll reward you with quiet devotion, goofy moments, and a loyal companion for life 💙
