About Luna
Meet Luna — the girl with the big heart and the even bigger cuddles.
Luna is a big, beautiful girl with an even bigger need to feel included.
She has lived happily as an only dog before, but what she’s shown us is that she doesn’t cope well with feeling alone or disconnected. She’s not destructive, not naughty — just a sensitive soul who frets when she doesn’t have company. Luna is at her absolute best when she has someone — human or canine — to share life with.
Originally rehomed through a vet nurse, Luna was adored by her family until an unexpected move overseas meant she needed a new place to land. In her most recent home, where she was again the only pet, she became unsettled when left alone — pacing, fretting and crying. What we’ve learned is that she thrives when she has consistent companionship.
Luna will do best in:
• A home with at least one well-matched resident male dog
OR
• Owners who are home most of the time and include her in daily life
She is a confident, affectionate and deeply people-oriented girl — described by her foster family as the “best sidekick ever.” She wants to be involved in whatever her people are doing, then happily settles nearby once the day winds down.
Luna has lived in a busy household with children from babies to teens and has been calm, gentle and patient with them all. She greets visitors confidently, sits politely for introductions, and is unfazed by cafes, crowds or busy environments.
She enjoys daily walks, beach runs (paws dry, thank you very much), and a good zoom around the yard before relaxing. She’s medium energy — happy to burn off steam, then content to curl up close. Secure, high fencing will be required to keep her safe.
She walks well on lead, has good recall, and knows basic commands including sit, stay, wait and come. She’s house trained, uses a doggy door, rides well in the car, and isn’t bothered by storms or household noise.
Luna has lived with multiple dogs and generally mixes well, though she can be a little dominant around food, so sensible feeding routines are important. She has never shown aggression toward people. She has lived with cats without issue, though she is interested in them, so a confident cat and careful introductions — or a cat-free home — would be ideal.
Luna doesn’t need perfection. She just needs connection. With the right companionship — canine or human — she will settle, attach deeply, and give her whole heart.
If you’re looking for an affectionate, loyal companion who truly wants to be part of your everyday life, Luna may be exactly who you’re looking for.
