Hi! I'm Hershey and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.

NOTE: You are unable to meet Hershey until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Hershey in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• A doggie companion is a MUST to keep me company when my family isn't home or a family that is home all the time. I get lonely and a bit anxious when left alone which may cause me to bark or become destructive.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs, ideally my size, I am a little unsure of bigger dogs.
• I appear to have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has cats, rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them
• Secure Fencing I can't escape from.
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention

My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
• Exuberant & full of beans

Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I am scared of thunder & fireworks and will bark & whine. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
• As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
• I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.

AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET HERSHEY IN PERSON.

ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET HERSHEY BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
