Velma

Meet Velma (or Thelma as her foster carers call her), a bouncy and energetic goofball who is sure to light up your life with her playful spirit! Velma is wonderfully affectionate and loves making friends, though her eagerness can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for more reserved company. She's safe around cats and finds them intriguing, even if she occasionally gets a bit too enthusiastic in her friendly gestures. Her curiosity doesn't extend to aggression, and she'll scamper away if a cat swipes at her.

Velma is a social butterfly among dogs, delighting in their company and sharing her exuberance with every wag and lick. She's best matched with a fellow energetic and playful doggie friend who can keep up with her love for constant play. An older or more reserved dog might find her pep a bit too much, as even her doggy friend, Lupita, occasionally needs a break from Velma’s high energy levels.

Velma is crate-trained and can settle down for a peaceful night's sleep. During outings, she's a bit nervous when gearing up, but once she's on the move she becomes more confident. Velma's travel skills are commendable, though she appreciates a bit of help getting into the car.

This gorgeous girl can be skittish on the lead so ongoing training to give her more confidence will definitely be what she needs.

Velma is mostly house-trained and appreciates encouragement to do her business outside. She adores outdoor adventures but isn't particularly fond of our feathered friends, as her curiosity sometimes gets the better of her. With her high energy levels, Velma is best suited to homes without young children or elderly individuals who could accidentally be bowled over by her enthusiasm.
