About Winnie
Introducing Winnie!
This lovely girl is looking for her forever home where she can finally feel safe and loved.
When Winnie came to the shelter, she was extremely overwhelmed by the stressful environment and was very wary of new people.
She started working with our Behaviour Trainers to build her confidence with new people, environments and other dogs, and has quite literally come leaps and bounds from where she started!
Winnie now enjoys having regular doggy play dates, enjoys meeting new people, and can now settle in unfamiliar environments!
In her new home, Winnie is looking for a home with either adults only or a family with secondary school-aged children or older, and will need to meet everyone here at the shelter before coming home.
She also might enjoy having the company of another doggo friend in her new home, so if you already have a dog who you think could use a friend, please bring them to the meet and greet so we can ensure a good match. Keep in mind, though, Winnie can be protective of her food, and her adopters will need to feed her separately and ensure she feels safe with her food.
Another thing that is an absolute MUST for Winnie is a nice big backyard! This girl LOVES to sniff around and explore her surroundings. It also means she has a space where she can go if she decides she needs some alone time to relax.
Winnie has been working on her basic skills while in the shelter, but would love to continue her training with her forever family to become the smartest girl on the block! So she would love her adopters to commit to constant, positive reinforcement training.
If you believe you have the perfect home for Winnie, come down to our North Melbourne shelter and meet her today!
