About Mr Al Mond (Almond)
Mr Al Mond is a true survivor, he was one of six kittens rescued by a council ranger and taken into care. When we went to collect Al, he was one of three kittens surviving and within a week he was the only kitten alive. Al truly represents the work that our small rescue does, we care for orphaned kittens and at a few days old his chance of survival was low.
After being tube fed, placed into an incubator and lots of love Al began to thrive and fight. He quickly grew stronger. Without knowing if he had ever been able to feed from his mum, we assumed he had a weaker immune system. Al has not only surprised us with his strength but his gentle kindness towards those he loves.
When he was about four weeks old, Al had a skin infection known as ringworm. This pesky fungus thrived in the humid summer environment. He has just been cleared of it. Being such a special kitten, it is hard to make him available for adoption as we all love his fighting spirit. But he needs to find his home.
Al was a single kitten, which can be a big issue as he grew up and was learning about the world. Luckily for Al, Rusty another ginger kit also had ringworm and they slowly bonded. Al is quick to launch into to play, as he never had the chance to learn when he was young but over time they have become great friends.
Al would thrive in a quiet home, he has grown up with dogs but their barking and noise worries him. He loves to steal their beds, maybe their food and all their toys. He could live with a quiet dog, who does not need a cat friend. We would love him to find a home with another playful kitten, or someone who has the time to keep him busy. He would just need a slow introduction to a new friend if it was not his bestie, Rusty.
He loves cat friends, but takes time to say hi to new human friends. Once he is yours, he is loving, sweet, gentle, loves the occasional crazy play session, gets excited for wand toy play sessions, knows when his meal times are, likes to help you in the kitchen and is happy to have a kiss on his head.
Al has had a sheltered life, to keep him safe we recommend that he is an indoor cat with the chance to learn about a harness for supervised time outdoors or maybe a cat run. He does find the outside world a bit much.
We love Mr Al Mond, he deserves to find the right home and one that will match his needs. Is this your place?
Medical notes
Al has just completed treatment for ringworm, this common skin infection has been cleared from his skin. He is no longer being treated for this as he is healthy.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is flexible, we want our kittens to be in homes that meet their needs. All potential adopters are asked to complete an application either via email or a phone call. We often call our potential adopters to discuss any questions from their application. If the kittens' needs are able to be met and we feel they suit your home, we will organise a meet and greet.
All adopters get a 40% off voucher from Royal Canin to make a purchase of the wet food and dry food you need. You do need to sign up to the Healthy Pets Club that contains advice for keeping your kitten happy, healthy and thriving. As well as any sales on kitten food. We also give our adopters a kitten pack with some toys, their health notes, vaccination card & desexing certificates plus a few days of wet food and dry food.
