About Shaggy
Meet Shaggy, an intriguing, lovely boy with heaps of character and a unique story. His energy and curiosity make him an exciting companion, always up for a play session with his toys or a good romp in the backyard. Shaggy thrives in the company of another dog, as his doggie companions serve as his bridge to building trust with people.
Initially wary of human interaction, Shaggy benefits from patient, slow introductions, allowing him to come into his own with those he warms up to. His loyalty and affection are well worth the wait. Once he's comfortable, you'll discover a loving dog who enjoys the simple pleasures of cuddles and treats. Shaggy is a quick learner and is responsive to commands like "come," "sit," and "wait." He is mostly house trained but may have the occasional accident if he can’t make it outside.
Shaggy's confidence shines the brightest outdoors where he loves to run. He's good on a lead and happy in the car, making him a great partner for adventures. He's also quite at peace in the backyard, provided he has another doggy friend to share it with.
Although Shaggy isn't fond of crates, he'll do fine during short absences if he has the company of the other dogs in his foster home. He has a natural curiosity about cats and, with careful supervision during introductions, he could coexist peacefully with a cat.
His ideal new family would have experience with dogs and the patience to let Shaggy come out of his shell in his own time. A companion dog is a must, as it aids in furthering his social skills. If you can offer this lovely boy the support and understanding he needs, Shaggy promises to be a loyal and rewarding addition to your home.
