Hello there! I’m Blaze, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.

Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Blaze if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well

My Ideal Home:
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I love love love toys and mental enrichment, I would hugely benefit from having a pile of toys to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• I do like female dogs but I can be full on so I will need to be an only dog in the home although I am happy to say hello when out and about.
• I’m not fussed on other male dogs but will have a quick hello if they are walking past and are gentle/calm around me.
• I have a high prey drive, so I’m not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.
• I am full of beans and can be abit jumpy, but it doesn't take me long to chill out and then I want nothing but cuddles and will happily fall asleep on your lap
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• As an active breed, I have lots of energy, so I’ll need an active family who can keep up with me.
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.

My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I’m excited.
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit, shake and stay, and I’m always eager to learn more.
• I walk nicely on lead for a young dog, and with daily walks I’ll only keep improving.

Training & Support Needs:
• I haven’t had much formal training yet, so I’ll need help with a few my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food and toys, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• I am happy to say hello to friendly dogs when out on walks however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.
