About Malcolm
When we first saw his pound picture our hearts broke, seeing his ribs showing through and looking so very sad.
Bigger dogs aren’t always as easy to find carers for but lucky for this guy, foster mum Irene stepped up. When transport arrived, he sat very quietly and waited his turn to be unloaded like such a good boy.
First stop was off for a bath which he absolutely loved and made him feel (and smell!) so much better. He has since been bathed by the neighbouring dog groomer and adored all of the attention.
He has been the perfect gentleman, walks well on the leash, hasn’t had any inside toilet accidents and knows his basic commands.
Foster mum has been giving him extra meals to help get some weight on which he thoroughly approves of.
He does have a few scars on his body from his previous life but that’s in his past and its good times only in his future. The vet advised some of his fur may never fully grow back but he is healed and healthy.
He really has become a Velcro dog since learning about the good times. He has been around young children with no problems.
He can be a little clumsy when playing as he is like an overgrown puppy discovering things for the first time.
Overall, he really is a heart stealer and so deserving of his happy ever after.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
