Our beautiful boy Malcolm is once again searching for his family. We are looking for a foster to adopt home to ensure he settles and we are here to offer support.
Malcolm hasn’t had an easy start to life. Just when he thought he had found his forever home, he found himself back in care when things didn’t work out. It’s the kind of setback no dog deserves — especially one who just wants to love and be loved.
We’ve spent time working with a trainer, and it’s clear Malcolm carries some deep-rooted trauma from his past. Because of this, he needs a very special kind of home — a calm, quiet, and understanding space where he can finally exhale, decompress, and feel safe.
He’s a true Velcro dog, happiest right by your side, soaking up all the love he’s missed out on. He has previously lived happily with children and forms strong bonds with his people. On walks, he can feel overwhelmed and may bark or pull towards other dogs, but this comes from uncertainty, not malice.
Right now, Malcolm needs a foster-to-adopt home where he can be the only pet — a place filled with patience, kindness, and gentle reassurance as he learns the world isn’t such a scary place.
He doesn’t need perfection. He just needs someone willing to give him time, love, and a chance.

At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
