“𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴.”
Aura is a 3-year-old German Shepherd who was found as a stray and was never claimed; she has been in foster care the past few months whilst we got to know her better and is now ready to find a forever home of own.
Aura is the sweetest girl that absolutely loves people; pats, being brushed, and cuddling up inside are Aura’s favourite activities, she is an affectionate love-bug who will sit on your feet lapping up attention. Aura is at her happiest when she at her human’s side and is a typical German Shadow that will follow you around the house, she is fine being left on her own and will always greet you excitedly each day when you come home. Aura was born with a docked tail, but this doesn’t stop it from wagging constantly!
When Aura is excited or in play mode, she can forget her manners and will jump up, whilst she wouldn’t intentionally hurt a child, she may knock them over and will need firm boundaries in her new home. Aura is best suited to a home with children over 5 who have experience with large breed dogs.
Aura is very clever and learns new things quickly, she knows her basic commands and a few extra tricks too but could absolutely do with some further training to fine-tune her skills. Aura is motivated by food and toys; she is very attentive and just wants to please her people. Aura will need to work on her leash manners and commands under distraction and practice keeping her arousal levels low when other dogs are around.
Aura is an active girl wand will need plenty of stimulation both through exercise, training and games to keep her quick mind working. Aura is the type of dog that would excel at obedience, she picks things up super quickly and lures beautifully. If you are looking for a dog that can be your obedience superstar, this girl is the one for you!
Aura is very conflicted around other dogs, she was always lacking in confidence and manners around others, but this has been exacerbated in foster care as she was unfortunately rushed at by an off-lead dog. Aura will need to work on her dog interactions over time with her new family, building her confidence through gradual, safe exposure in a controlled environment. Right now, Aura’s goal is to improve her focus and engagement with her handler so that she can ignore other dogs walking past, she is a work in progress and will need someone committed to her ongoing socialisation.
Aura needs to be the only pet in her new home.
Aura loves to play and has such a goofy, fun-loving nature, she loves to play fetch, frisbee and tug, squeaky toys are her ultimate favourite! Aura still has lots of puppylike moments where she will erupt into Zoomies, play bow, and get into mischief. This beautiful girl oozes personality and cheek, it is impossible not to smile when she is around, her big eyes making you fall instantly in love.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
