About Maverick
This fella bounced off transport raring to see what his future holds.
His pound notes said, “dumped by owner but friendly”, we think he was loved once as he knows some basic commands and how to shake hands.
We didn’t have a carer on the last transport run but the pound kept him safe until we could come back so we are so truly grateful for his foster family choosing him.
He was all excited tail wags and tongue out barely able to wait to get to his foster home and start his next chapter.
Aged at a little over 2 years old and chipped as a pug x he is an excitable little package. His foster family describe him as easy going but energetic.
He tends to bark when he encounters other dogs during walks, but this behaviour appears to stem more from fear than aggression, suggesting that something may have affected him in the past. He will require patient and dedicated owners to assist him in managing this behaviour. Additionally, he might prefer female companions, as he is currently living contentedly with another female dog.
He is living with older teens but hasn’t yet met any smaller humans.
Maverick recently attended an 18th birthday party at his foster home and happily introduced himself to all the 40 guests, making sure he spent some time with everyone, getting in on every conversation and game. He really is a social, friendly young man.
He isn’t particularly food motivated but will eat his kibble.
Overall, he is a happy, bouncy young man ready to start his happy ever after
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.

Adoption details
At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
