About Poppy
Meet Poppy, a vibrant and spirited young German Shepherd with a striking black and tan stock coat. Poppy is ready to bring her infectious energy and affection to a new family who understands her needs and can provide her with the love and guidance she deserves.
Though she started life on a rocky path, Poppy has blossomed under our care into a confident and social puppy. She loves meeting new people and exploring new places, all accomplished with a bouncy step and a wagging tail. Vet checked and immunized, Poppy is a healthy and outgoing pup who's ready for another leap into the world, with the right amount of care and attention.
An experienced shepherd home is essential for Poppy, as her intelligent and exuberant nature requires clear boundaries, structure, and a stimulating daily routine. Training will be an ongoing necessity, but it offers an incredible opportunity for bonding through fun and rewarding sessions that will enhance her skills and reinforce her trust in you.
Families living in Queensland or Victoria can be considered for adoption, but you'll need to meet her in person. If ever Poppy doesn't settle comfortably, you'll have to make the trip back to Sydney, so please plan ahead.
If you've previously owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog and recognize the level of commitment needed, Poppy could be the perfect match for your family. We're confident that with your care, she'll flourish into an exceptional companion. Please inquire about Poppy today, and take the first step to making her a cherished member of your home. Visit our website and complete the application form to start this exciting journey together: [https://gsrescuensw.com.au/adopt-foster/](https://gsrescuensw.com.au/adopt-foster/).
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Poppy will be desexed when she is older on vet advice.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
