About Edna
Mother earned her name the most honest way possible - by bravely raising her babies after a hard life on the streets. Thanks to her devotion, her kittens have now found their freedom and confidence. Mother, however, is still waiting for hers.
This gentle soul is very timid and shy, shaped by a past where survival came before safety. The world is still a big, overwhelming place for her, and she approaches it with caution. She isn't the cat who will run up to greet you or demand affection - not yet. What she is is a cat with so much quiet potential, just waiting for the right person to see her and choose her.
Mother will need an exceptionally understanding and patient home - someone ready to truly save a cat's life and become her whole world. Progress will be slow and subtle: tiny steps, quiet victories, moments that might go unnoticed by most, but will mean everything to her. With time, consistency, and kindness, she will learn that hands can be gentle, homes can be safe, and love doesn't have to disappear.
This is not an instant-gratification adoption. This is a journey. And we will be here to support you every step of the way, offering guidance, advice, and reassurance as Mother learns to trust.
Mother is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Mother - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
