About Wilburt
Wilburt has come such a long way.
After being rescued from a hoarding situation, he needed time to decompress and learn what it meant to feel safe. Thanks to months in a dedicated foster home, his confidence has slowly grown - and it's been beautiful to watch.
Wilburt can be initially shy with new people and unfamiliar environments. He takes a little time to assess things and feel secure, but with gentle introductions and patience, he settles in well. He is currently on behavioural medication and it has been a wonderful tool in helping him navigate the world more comfortably.
Wilburt would thrive as the only pet in the home. He really benefits from one-on-one guidance and confidence building, and having his own space and people allows him to continue progressing at his own pace.
Once he feels safe, Wilburt's true personality shines. He is playful, silly and incredibly smart. He loves getting out for walks in quiet areas where he can explore without feeling overwhelmed - but don't be fooled by his thoughtful nature, he's an active boy who enjoys movement, enrichment and using his brain.
Wilburt is looking for a calm, understanding home committed to helping him keep building confidence. In return, you'll get to watch this sweet, resilient boy continue to blossom into the wonderful companion we know he can be.
