About Pappa Joe
🩵 Please Adopt Pappa Joe 🩵
We have lowered his adoption fee to $50 to help him find a home! So far we are not having much luck for this misunderstood boy.
Some cats don't run up to strangers asking for cuddles. Some cats need time and wait, hoping someone will see past their fear and that's Joe.
He can be a totally friendly little cat who will want to sleep with you, will follow you and give lots of head boops. Sadly, it just takes him time to get to this level of trust so he is being overlooked or we just have not found the right fit for him.
Joe had a difficult start to life and we don't think people have always been kind to him. Because of this, he is nervous when first meeting new people. Once he feels safe he is so sweet and affectionate.
Once settled in, he is friendly, and so deserving of someone who will let him settle in at his own pace. We just need someone who can look past the initial hisses and give him the time he needs to feel safe and show love.
Joe would make a wonderful companion and can happily be adopted as an only cat, where he can soak up all the love and attention. He would also the fine with a calm, cat-social friend (with a slow and proper introduction).
He is looking for a peaceful home without dogs or children under 12 years, just a patient, gentle person who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. He is going to take time.
Joe is an active and playful cat who is not suited to a small unit. He does need some space to be his happiest self.
If you're the kind of person who believes the best friendships take time to grow, Pappa Joe is waiting for you. Watching a shy cat learn to trust, relax, and finally feel safe is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have.
