Some cats don't run up to strangers asking for cuddles. Some cats need time and wait, hoping someone will see past their fear and that's Joe.
He is a totally friendly little cat who will want to sleep with you, snuggle on the couch, follow you and give head boops. Sadly, it just takes him time to get to this level of trust.
Joe had a difficult start to life and we don't think people have always been kind to him. Because of this, he is understandably nervous when he first meets new people or finds himself in busy, noisy environments. But once he feels safe, you discover the gentle, affectionate boy hiding underneath.
He has the biggest heart. He is sweet, friendly, and so deserving of someone who will let him settle in at his own pace. Joe expresses fear as aggression so is being overlooked. We need someone who can look past the initial hisses and give him the time he needs to feel safe and show love
Sadly, Joe spent far too long waiting in the pound simply because he wasn't the confident, outgoing cat everyone notices first. Timid cats are so often overlooked, especially tabbies, but they have just as much love to give. Sometimes the quiet souls make the most rewarding companions.
He can happily be adopted as an only cat, where he can soak up all the love, security and attention he has always deserved. He would also thrive with a calm, cat-social feline friend.
He is looking for a peaceful home without dogs or young children, just a patient, gentle person who understands that trust is earned, not rushed.

Adoption details
If a member of the public is interested in adopting they will need to fill out an application form on our website. If approved, a phone interview will be conducted. If the interview is successful they are able to meet the animal and if all goes well adopt on the day.
