About Boots (On Trial)
Boots went on trial on 24/7. Please consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au such as sam, cody and toby. . . Boots is very tiny, one-eyed, long-haired chihuahua of around 10 years. He wags his tail when he sees me and is quite the personality! he makes funny noises as if trying to speak. He’s actually quite vocal and quirky and it's adorable. He has really come out of his shell after just a week in foster care. For the first week boots was here, he seemed such a solitary man. But now he has changed and i am delighted that he has proven me wrong about him! he is in fact quite a smoocher! i think he’s just a bit shy with new people and he is really worth giving a chance. He deserves a loving home to call his own and will reward someone with all his heart and soul. I guess it was a lot of change for him to adapt to coming here, but it's delightful to see his real personality shining through now. . . . Boots doesn't mind being home alone during the day and is content to sit outside on a soft chair and watch the world go by. But like any dog, he gets lonely and would prefer company, and certainly needs to be inside and part of the family when anyone is home. He needs to sleep inside. Boots is in the process of being housetrained and learning to use the doggy door. . . . Boots has a very pretty and soft coat that just requires the occasional bath and regular brushing to keep him gorgeous and comfortable. He doesn't require clipping. Boots is pocket size at only 2. 9kgs. A chihuahua like boots will live on average 15 years so he still have one-third of his life ahead of him and we think they will be his best years. . . Boots is a mystery man. We have no idea how he found himself at the pound at his age and with one eye missing (long healed). He wasn't microchipped and doesn't appear to have any obedience training so we suspect he wasn't particularly well cared for. . . . Boots would not be suited to a home with young children (under around 8) because they frighten him and he might snap at them plus they could easily hurt such a small dog. He likes other dogs - especially the ladies ;-) he is terrific with cats, not fazed by them at all. . . . Boots is not a demanding dog at all, but he is very good company when you want him to be. He doesn’t need long walks. His needs are very simple; he just wants a warm bed inside of a night, tasty food and someone to show him love and kindness. I can see boots as a very easy companion to a senior person who can't go for big walks but would love a dog friend to sit next to them watching tv, gardening or pottering around in the shed. He would also be suited to an older, working single person or couple who needs a dog who will not fret at home while they work, but who will greet them with a waggy tail and give them lots of love when they come home. Boots would be fine in a townhouse or villa. . . . Dog rescue newcastle www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Our adoption fee covers the dog's desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. . . . Boots is in foster care in salamander bay, nsw (30 minutes north of newcastle in port stephens).
