About Ryder
Hi there! My name is Ryder.
I'm a seven-month-old Siberian Husky, which means I'm right in the middle of my cheeky teenage phase. I'm still growing into my body and my brain is very much under construction, so I can be energetic, curious, a little sassy, and sometimes test boundaries as I learn about the world. Being a husky, I'm an active and intelligent boy who enjoys staying busy and engaged, and I'll do best with a family who understands the breed and is happy to guide me through adolescence with patience, structure, and consistency.
I do have a medical condition called chronic enteropathy, which means my digestive system is sensitive and can become easily upset. This is managed with a strict, veterinary-recommended special diet that helps keep my tummy settled and comfortable. As long as my diet is maintained and I don't eat foods that don't agree with me, I can feel great and enjoy a normal, happy life. My future family will need to be committed to sticking to my food plan, but I promise I'm worth the extra care.
You might notice I have a few extra toes on my paws, which is called polydactyly. It doesn't bother me at all or slow me down, it just makes me a little more unique and adds to my character.
Shelter life can be overwhelming for a sensitive teenage dog like me, so I'm currently on short-term medication to help with stress. When I go home with you, I'll come with a month's supply so I can gradually wean off it as I settle into my new environment. With a calm home, routine, enrichment, and positive guidance, I'm expected to transition off this medication smoothly.
If you're looking for a young husky who's still learning, growing, and ready to form a strong bond with his people, I could be the perfect match. I may have a few extra needs, but I also have a big personality, lots of potential, and a whole lot of love waiting to share.
If I sound like the puppy for you, come and adopt me today!
Weight: 18kg (with room to grow!)
