About Alfie
Meet Alfie, the adorable Dachshund puppy, born on November 6, 2025! At just 3.8 kg, Alfie is a pocket-sized cutie with a heart full of potential. This little one may be shy at first, but don't let that fool you. There's a world of affectionate companionship waiting just beneath the surface, ready to bloom with the right guidance and support.
Alfie enjoys the company of other dogs and has shown an eagerness to play with smaller canine friends. However, being in new surroundings or meeting larger dogs can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for him. With his exploring nature, Alfie may start off a tad timid, but he warms up and comes out of his shell given some time and reassurance. He thrives on cues and guidance from the people around him, and with patient encouragement, Alfie will shine as a loyal and delightful companion.
Alfie would thrive in a home where he can gradually get used to his surroundings, with a loving family that understands his need for security and his friendly disposition. If you have a gentle hand and a playful spirit, Alfie could be the perfect pup for your home, eager to be guided and loved as he grows into his charming self.
Medical notes
Alfie passed his medical
Alfie has had a series of radiographs taken, in order to evaluate hip, hock and carpal structure. Apart from bilateral carpal valgus, and bilateral pes varus, there is no current joint pathology evident. Close monitoring for evidence of lameness is recommended.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
