About Nala
Hi there, I'm Nala 💜.
I'm a big girl with an even bigger heart, and I'm ready to give it to you.
While I might look big and bold, I’m actually a soft, gentle girl at heart.
I seem shy at first, but don’t worry, that doesn’t last long. Once I feel safe, I turn into the world’s biggest velcro dog. I’ll follow you everywhere, nap near your feet and quietly make sure you’re never alone again.
I’m not a high-energy, go-go-go kind of girl. A lazy 30-minute walk 🐾 in the morning is perfect for me, and after that I’m very happy to spend the rest of the day relaxing by your side.
I do still have a playful side. I love a game of chasey, a bit of fetch and flinging my squeaky toys around like I’m putting on a show. And just so you know – when I’m happy, my tail goes into full wiggle mode. It’s powerful, enthusiastic, and right at waist height. Approach with mild caution.
I’m very polite on walks and around the house. I walk beautifully on lead with my halter, I don’t pull, I don’t jump up, and I keep my paws off the couch and bed. I do, however, have a head that is exactly bench height, so unattended snacks may quietly disappear.
Because I’m a sensitive soul, I’d be happiest in a home with older kids who understand gentle dogs. In return, I’ll give you loyalty, calm companionship, and a whole lot of quiet love.
If you’re looking for a soft, sweet, slightly shy best friend who will adore you completely, I think I might be your girl.
I love cats 🐈⬛ and I would think it wonderful to have a gentle doggie friend 🐕 💜.

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
