About Astrid
Astrid is a lively, affectionate little presence with a big personality and an even bigger love of being near her people. Her days are a happy rhythm of play, naps, snacks and seeking attention, with plenty of commentary along the way. She’s clever, curious and wonderfully social, especially when there’s a rolling object to chase or a favourite human nearby to supervise her antics. She’s often described as a “large kitten” for life — petite for a fully grown cat, but bursting with kitten-like energy and playfulness that never seems to fade.
With the people she knows and trusts, Astrid is devoted. She loves pats, head scratches and being watched while she plays, and she’ll happily curl up with her guardian at night or settle in for long hours beside them while they work from home. She shows affection by following her humans everywhere, hopping onto desks, couches and chairs for smooches, and even “helping” with keyboards and laptops when she feels attention is being misdirected. She’s chatty with her loved ones and loves to chatter at birds outside, though sudden loud noises can startle her.
Around new people, Astrid is gentle and a little reserved at first. She won’t rush up for attention, but she also doesn’t hide away, preferring to observe and warm up in her own time. Offer a quiet moment and a proffered finger, and she’ll often lean in for a curious boop before deciding you’re worth getting to know. She prefers not to be picked up, instead choosing when and how she shares her affection.
Astrid would thrive in a calm, indoor-only home where someone is around more often than not and happy to let her set the pace. She suits apartment living and adult-only households. When it comes to living with another companion she doesn’t enjoy dogs, but she has previously lived alongside another friendly cat and even tolerated being groomed by them.
Her favourite things include chasing rolling objects back and forth like a game of tennis, soaking up head scratches, and being gently patted while she sleeps. One of her most endearing habits is the way she crosses one paw neatly over the other whenever she lies down, like a tiny lady settling in. Life with Astrid is full of playful moments, quiet companionship and the joy of being chosen again and again by a loyal, cheeky cat who truly loves her people.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
