About Koala
Koala is an uncut gem. She has oodles of potential, but it will take some time for her to come into her own. She needs someone who is particularly interested in learning how to socialise and build confidence in cats- someone very patient and kind that knows that cats warm up on their own timeline.
A quiet house with a very confident, outgoing, friendly, cat-loving resident cat would be ideal, so she can continue to learn the ropes of being an indoor cat from a role model.
Koala has moments of being incredibly affectionate, and she absolutely loves being brushed. She will even ask for cuddles, and those moments are increasing in frequency, but she also is still trying to overcome her background as a stray cat, and can become scared and uncertain easily. Despite looking for a quiet/low-key household, Koala does love to share her singing voice with you🎤🎶🎵.
She absolutely loves having access to the outdoor cat enclosure and spends a lot of her time out there - she would benefit from having one of these in her new forever home.
She gets along well with other cats and would benefit from the companionship of a confident and unbothered cat to continue to show her how to be a domesticated cat.
If you are up for an incredibly rewarding challenge, where you can witness the transformation of a cat as her nervous system relaxes into safety and she bonds with a human, please consider Koala!

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
