About Mel
*In foster care in Hurstville, Sydney*
Charming young cat Mel is looking for a BFF! Playful and relaxed, with a sunny nature, she adores every person she meets - but she can't wait to find that special someone who'll be her forever human :)
Mel is easygoing and great company, equally happy to nap nearby as you work or watch TV, or to engage in some fun and games (ideally with you taking the lead!). She definitely has a zoomy side too, though given the choice, chilling by your side usually wins out.
One of her funniest quirks is her drinking style - which involves dipping a paw into her bowl, giving the surrounding tiles (and sometimes herself) a good splash, then delicately licking the few remaining drops off her paw. Water doesn't seem to bother her at all!
While she's not yet a lap cat, Mel is a super smoochy girl who loves pats and should fit beautifully into most types of homes.
Like all Maggie’s pets, Mel is microchipped, desexed, and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I'm easy, really! Whether you're a single person, couple or family, living a quiet life or a bustling one, I'm sure to feel right at home - as long as I'm getting plenty of attention and face time!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I can be playful for sure! - but mostly in short bursts.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Though I haven't met any children since arriving in foster care, I reckon I'd enjoy hanging out with kind, loving kids who can play gently. I'm very sociable and not afraid of people at all!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Unknown at this stage.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
