Hi, I’m Enrique 👋

After a few nights settling into my foster home, I’m starting to feel more comfortable and let my gentle personality shine. I’m a quiet, sweet boy who really enjoys a cheeky cuddle, especially if it involves sitting on your lap. My foster family thinks I may grow to around 30kg, but that hasn’t stopped my dream of being a lap dog.

I’m beginning to discover the fun side of life too. Balls and chew toys are catching my attention, and while food is nice, I really light up with kind words and praise when I sit nicely or do my toileting outside.

Like many dogs who are learning about new routines, I can feel a little unsure when my foster carer leaves. I sometimes have a small cry, particularly at bedtime when I’m settling into my crate. It’s all very new to me, and with patience, reassurance, and consistency, I’m learning that it’s a safe and cosy space.

Enrique is in foster care with a loving family, which means we are getting to know his personality and needs really well. He can be met easily by submitting an adoption application, and we can arrange a meet and greet. SAFE is a foster-based rescue and does not have a shelter you can visit, but that doesn’t stop you from adopting a wonderful dog like Enrique and giving him the next chapter he is ready for.
