Meet Winnie! 💛
Winnie is Nugget and Mate’s sister, and together they were rescued from death row after the breeder discarded the litter -and we’re so glad they got their second chance, because these pups are something truly special. Their early history is a little unknown, but based on their looks and size, we suspect they may be an Arab x Wolfhound mix. Winnie has the sweetest little wiry scruff, which only adds to her charm.
Winnie is a soft, sweet-natured pup who approaches the world with a little caution and a lot of kindness. She’s shy at first, but give her a few minutes and once it clicks that she’s safe, she’s incredibly friendly, affectionate, and trusting. She has a very gentle temperament and a calm presence that just makes you want to protect her and cheer her on.
She currently lives happily with three other dogs and does beautifully with them- she’s very playful and social. Winnie would absolutely thrive in a home with a confident, friendly dog who is playful. She takes cues from other dogs exceptionally well and really blossoms when she has a steady role model. While there is no shortage of dog beds in the foster home, she often chooses the wooden flooring as it's nice and cool. On cooler nights, she snuggles with the other dogs on the dog beds before they get crated for bed time. She is a great dinner prep supervisor, sitting and waiting to see if you might have a sneaky bit for her!
Winnie is great with both male and female dogs of various sizes and handles new environments well. She does wonderfully at the vet, patiently letting them do their thing. At home, her favourite thing is splashing around in the clamshell pool on the deck or playing tug-a-war with the other dogs. She’s crate trained, sleeps through the night like an angel, and comes when called. One of her favourite treats is celery with a bit of peanut butter, sometimes straight off the doggy spoon! And if that wasn’t cute enough, she’ll occasionally wander over, gently place her paw in your hand, and just “hold hands” for a moment.
With people, Winnie is polite, soft, and sensitive. She doesn’t rush in demanding attention; instead, she quietly seeks some attention and snuggles. She’s the kind of pup who bonds deeply and rewards patience with the most loyal, loving companionship. Winnie would suit most families who want a friendly loving dog. She hasn't been tested with cats or children under 6yrs old yet however. But we don't anticipate any issues- she's very submissive.
If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive puppy with a heart of gold, Winnie could be your perfect match. 💛

We do not approve meet-and-greets without a completed and approved application. Applications must be completed in full; incomplete applications will not be followed up. Required photos of yard and fencing must be provided within 48 hours or the application will not proceed. Photos may be sent via our Facebook page or emailed to offthechaink9rescue@outlook.com.
Due to the volume of behind-the-scenes work, we are not always able to contact applicants whose application is not a suitable match for the pet they have applied for, however we do endeavour to do so where possible.
