About Ozzy (On Trial)
Ozzy went on trial on 31/7. Pls consider our other dogs at www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au particularly sandy, scottie and mia. . . Ozzy is a 2. 5 year old cavoodle (cavalier x poodle) who adores all sorts of toys especially squeaky toys and balls. He likes his back scratched and to sit on your lap. He loves to play with my dog and my dog is getting lots of exercise wrestling and chasing with ozzy. It's so funny to watch them they're always making me laugh. . . Ozzy is gentle and friendly towards everyone and is just so happy to be out of the pound. When he came into care his coat was long and matted and he hadn't had much training. So we think he may have been an impulse purchase from a pet shop and was then left alone in a backyard as soon as the novelty wore off. But little ozzy's life has all changed now and he is enjoying it to the max! it's so delightful to watch him discover things like toys, balls, soft beds and good food. He must not have had enough food before because he is still a bit thin and he doesn't like you to try to take his food away. Until he learns that there will always be plenty of food, he would not be suited to a home with small children. Older children who can understand not to bother him when he is eating would be fine. . . . Ozzy, ozzy, ozzy has the affectionate nature of a cavalier king charles spaniel and the high intelligence of a poodle. He learned how to use the doggy door immediately. I'm house training him now but he sometimes has accidents. Ozzy is still quite young and is very trainable. He would benefit from dog training classes offered through most vets and dog clubs. . . . He has a very soft, smoky grey coat. He doesn't shed, so won't leave fur on your clothes or furniture, and is better for people with allergies. However, he will need regular brushing, bathing and clipping. . . Ozzy is an inside dog who will need to be inside when people are home and to sleep inside. He'll be ok outside during the day if the family to go work and school, so long as he has good shelter and a canine friend for company. A doggy door would be ideal. Never again is he to be abandoned all alone outside. . . Ozzy would be fine with children over about 8 years old and is terrific with other friendly dogs. He's not suited to a home with cats as he likes to chase them. Ozzy will need a home with either another dog, or where there is someone home most of the time. He is such a young, sweet and innocent soul, we know he has so much love to give and will bring lots of joy to his forever home. . . *** please see more photos of ozzy at
