About Oakley - Special needs
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Oakley is an absolutely gorgeous boy with a loving, friendly nature. He is very happy just being around home with his humans but becomes quite anxious when they leave the room and very distressed when left at home alone.
Since being in foster care Oakley has seen our vet and has started on some anti anxiety medications. Our vet is very optimistic that over the coming months Oakley will be able to overcome this high level of anxiousness. Oakley will need a patient owner who is committed to working with him long term on training and confidence.
When he is out on walks he can be a bit anxious, quite vocal to other dogs and a little fearful (but not aggressive). Like all puppies he will need ongoing socialisation and positive reinforcement and would do well with some fun training. He is smart and can sit and uses a puzzle toy easily!
He is indoor trained (will generally indicate when he needs to go outside).
He has enormous potential and has always been extremely well cared for and well loved. All his vet work is up to date and he is happy and healthy.
My Ideal Home:
Someone with patience, time and kindness who can commit to train him to be an amazing companion animal.
What is Known About My Background:
Oakley has been very loved and cared for by his previous family.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
Oakley had previously lived with twin sister Bella, older children and several cats. He gets along fine with all furry friends but is most focused on his humans.
He is currently residing with both cats and dogs.
