A heart full of love, a passion for inclusion, a streak of cheekiness and eyes that delve into your soul, Shimmer is just the sweetest packaged senior around.
After finding herself surrendered to a pound at age 13, she was lost, confused and scared of her new world. Once in foster care she has proven to be an absolute delight, trots happily alongside her foster mum and loves to be wherever her favourite humans are.
Shimmer is beautiful with the resident cats and enjoys giving them face kissies. Once she gets over her bravado of meeting new dogs, they also get the special facial treatment, but first she feels the need to puff out her little chest and tell them what's what. After her little speech, she is very friendly.
Toys, walks (max 20mins), car rides, sunbaking, rolling in stinky things and being in her humans proximity are what Shimmer loves most. A calm, adult only home will be best for her, as she has a very timid nature and cowers easily. Her stress and excitement levels also need to be kept to a minimum as her arrhythmia reaches out to say g'day. She is very good at self soothing with the suckling of a toy (see video).
Whilst she is a bit of a medical marvel (please ensure you read her medical notes), she has never let anything get in the way of living her life to the fullest. We are seeking a quiet and stress-free retirement home for her where she will be lavished with the love and attention she deserves for the rest of her days.
She is not suited to a home with stairs, apartment living, or people away from her for extended periods. Shimmer is such a little darling and so easy to have join your life.

Medical notes
This is going to sound like a lot, but really it's not and all is easily manageable! Shimmer has a few things going on so is seeking a special home. Along with her heart murmur, luxating patellas, itchiness and arthritis, Shimmer has Sick-Sinus Syndrome. She is currently trialling a medication to see if this helps reduce her fainting episodes, and is likely to require this medication ongoing. There is still a possibility that one day she may not get up from a collapse, so please keep this is mind. At the moment she has a partial faint and then gets up within seconds like nothing happened.
