About Hunter
Hunter is a striking, smart, and energetic German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) who was surrendered through no fault of his own. He's a loyal, loving dog who wants nothing more than to be part of a family, not left outside alone, and to share in all the adventures life has to offer.
Like many GSPs, Hunter is a working breed at heart. These dogs are energetic, intelligent, and eager to please, which makes them incredible companions - but they also need mental stimulation, physical exercise, and consistent training to thrive. Hunter is no exception! He loves to learn, play, and explore, and with the right outlets, he will be a devoted, happy, and obedient partner.
Hunter has shown some frustration around other dogs in the shelter, so his ideal home would be dog-free at first, allowing him to settle and work on his manners before introductions to other pets are considered. Once he's comfortable, his natural GSP friendliness may shine through, as they are typically social, affectionate, and loving dogs.
This clever, high-energy boy is looking for a home that understands the GSP lifestyle: long walks, active play, mental challenges, and plenty of family time. Hunter isn't a dog to be left alone outdoors - he craves companionship, love, and being an integral part of daily life.
If your family is ready for a loyal, energetic, and intelligent working dog who will reward your time and commitment with endless love and devotion, Hunter is waiting to meet you.
