Cookie

Cookie is a sweet Dalmatian with a beautiful nature and a heart full of love. While he may be a senior, Cookie is youthful, bright, and mobile, and certainly doesn't present as an old dog.

Cookie is an absolute pleasure to have in the home. He is affectionate without being demanding and loves being close to his people, happily following you around the house before settling quietly beside you. He is wonderful with both cats and dogs and fits beautifully into a home with existing pets.

He is a dream to walk, excellent on lead, and fantastic in the car, sitting calmly and quietly without a sound. At home, Cookie enjoys snoozing on his bed and relaxing in a calm, predictable environment. He listens beautifully and follows commands well, happily sitting, staying, or settling wherever you ask.

Cookie does experience anxiety when left alone and currently needs people who are home all of the time while he continues to build confidence. Importantly, he is not destructive, and remains gentle even when anxious. His anxiety shows as pacing and whining and is now being very well managed with behavioural medication given three times daily, which has made a significant positive difference.

Cookie is sensitive to loud noises such as storms, fireworks and young children. Cookie would thrive best in a quiet, low-stress home, ideally with more than one adult so he can always have reassurance nearby.

With patience, understanding, and love, Cookie is an incredibly rewarding dog - sweet, calm, loyal, and deeply affectionate. He is seeking an experienced foster-to-adopt home with a view to adoption once fully settled.
