About Cookie
Cookie is a beautiful, gentle soul with a soft, affectionate nature that is impossible not to fall in love with. At 10 years old, this lovely Dalmatian is still fit and active, but carries himself like a true gentleman. He is calm and well mannered out on walks, showing little reaction to the world around him, and at home he is happiest simply being near his person, quietly shadowing you as you go about your day before settling in for a snooze or a cuddle.
Cookie is a sensitive boy who can experience fear based anxiety, particularly when settling into a new home or when left alone. With time, patience, and the right support, he does make progress and can be left for short periods once he feels safe. He would suit a quieter home where someone is around most of the time, as he thrives on companionship and reassurance. While he is friendly with other dogs and respectful of confident cats, he would be best suited to a calm environment without too much excitement, where he can continue to feel secure and regulated.
As a senior boy, Cookie does have some ongoing medical needs that will require commitment from his new guardians. He is on behavioural medication to support his anxiety and requires a prescription urinary diet to manage his urinary health. He also has some breed related skin needs and early signs of joint stiffness, all of which are currently well managed and we will support his adopters with ongoing care guidance. Cookie is a truly special boy looking for a kind, understanding home that will give him the comfort and stability he deserves in his next chapter.
