About Tucker
Meet Tucker!
Currently small & cute but on the road to being big & beautiful! Tucker is an Irish Wolfhound X Bull Arab & will most likely end up as a larger sized dog. He is confident & cheeky & has a preference for shoelaces & moving feet!
Taking on Tucker is a big commitment & consideration needs to be given as to how much time you can give to raising a puppy. Tucker will need lots of guidance & training from humans but cold also live with another dog-friendly canine.
Attending puppy school is highly recommended too & Tucker loves learning new things & exploring new spaces.
With enough time, patience & consistency, Tucker will make a terrific family dog & companion.
Before welcoming a puppy into your home, keep these tips in mind:
Learning the world: Puppies are just starting to figure out life with humans. Gentle, positive introductions to new sights, sounds, and experiences will help them grow into confident and resilient dogs. Celebrate the behaviors you want to see more of-praise, treats, toys, and playtime are all powerful rewards.
Chewing instincts: Puppies love to chew! Provide plenty of safe chew toys and manage their environment so they don't nibble on furniture or shoes. Pens and crates are excellent tools for giving them a secure space to eat, rest, and play.
Toilet training: Patience is key-this process takes time. Consistency and repetition will set your pup up for success. Skip the punishment for accidents; instead, reward them when they use the right spot.
Energy & curiosity: Puppies are lively explorers with endless energy. They'll chew, play, and test boundaries, so be prepared to invest time and effort in guiding them. Teach children how to interact respectfully with puppies, reminding them that pups are living beings-not toys. Always supervise play between young kids and dogs.
Long-term commitment: The more love, consistency, and effort you put in now, the fewer behavioral challenges you'll face later. And don't forget-research your chosen breed carefully to make sure their needs match your lifestyle.
