Orlando

Meet Orlando, a remarkably relaxed and amiable dog whose gentle nature makes him a joy to be around. This boy is a total sweetheart. When he first came into care, he was a bit clingy; however, after a few days he settled right into his foster home and is very happy to chill out somewhere by himself. Don’t misinterpret that though, Orlando loves to hop up on the couch with you and snuggle up. He also loves pats and even relishes you just having a hand touching him.

Orlando has shown us that he is a very social dog with everyone and everything. Nothing really fazes him at home or out and about. He will gently greet people including children that he comes across on walks and is happy to get attention from new people out and about. He does all of this with his characteristic calmness. Orlando is very neutral around other dogs. He is happy to sniff and say hi to dogs he comes across and is happily coexisting with the resident dog in his foster home.

This gorgeous boy doesn’t really have any formal training behind him; however, he is very compliant and gets the drift of what is being asked of him. Orlando’s foster carer reports that he is the best foster house guest she has ever had. He is toilet trained and happy to spend time in his crate. He’s been sleeping in his crate through the night and even happy to have some down time there during the day. Orlando walks well on the lead with no pulling. He loves to go on his daily walks and really enjoys sniffing all the smells.

Orlando is a pure-bred standard poodle and weighs 24kg. He will need regular grooming and brushing at home which he quite enjoys. Being home alone for short periods of time has not bothered him but he mostly has had his doggy friend around for companionship. Orlando would be able to fit into many different types of home environments and will make a beautiful companion. We expect he would be fine to live with children, but they should be dog savvy and able to respect his space. He would enjoy a yard to stretch his legs in, but this isn’t essential for him if he’s got regular companionship and outings. All in all, he is a wonderful all rounder who is going to be a really gorgeous addition to his new family.
