Jessie

Hi, I am Jessie and I live life with enthusiasm turned right up. I love people, I love dogs and I especially love being part of whatever is happening around me. Other dogs are great fun and I am very friendly with them. I have not met cats yet, so I am still a mystery in that department, but I am young and learning about the world one experience at a time.

I would be fine as an only dog, but I do need company. I really enjoy attention and would thrive in a home with children or another pet to keep me busy and feeling included. I am wonderful with kids of all ages and what surprises people most is how gentle I am with them. I get excited, yes, but I am learning that little people are not toys and I am trying very hard to keep my feet on the floor.

I sleep in my crate and I am used to spending my days both inside and outside, with naps in my crate when I need a rest. I am home alone for three to four hours at a time and settle well once I know my people are coming back. I am slowly learning my basics like sitting nicely at dinner time and I am working on toilet training. I am doing pretty well as long as I am shown where to go regularly.

I love food more than almost anything and treats are the fastest way to my heart. Squishy rubber toys are also a favourite. I can be a bit vocal if I feel left out and might bark or whine, but I do settle once I realise attention is coming. Car trips are not my favourite and I can get a bit queasy, so that is something my future family should know.

At the end of the day, I am affectionate, playful and full of love. I melt into cuddles once I finally slow down. I am still a puppy, still learning and growing, but I would make a beautiful family companion with a bit of patience and a lot of love.
